Telecommunications regulatory and transactional
We advise telecommunications companies in Mexico on regulatory and transactional matters — concessions and authorizations, regulatory compliance before the sector regulator, specialized contracts and deal structuring — with experience in a highly regulated, technically complex sector.
We work with operators, resellers and providers of infrastructure and services that need to enter the Mexican market, keep their concession titles in good standing, or structure transactions within the sector.
Regulatory work does not end with the concession: we support ongoing compliance — reports, cooperation obligations, user rights — and represent our clients in their dealings with the sector authority.
We combine regulatory knowledge with a transactional practice: interconnection and infrastructure-sharing agreements, purchases of sector assets and deals between operators.

Frequently asked questions
What do I need to provide telecommunications services in Mexico?
Generally, an enabling title granted by the sector authority — a single concession or, to resell third-party services, a reseller authorization — plus ongoing regulatory compliance. The right figure depends on the service and the business model.
Can a foreign company invest in Mexican telecommunications?
Yes. The sector admits foreign investment, with specific rules depending on the activity — broadcasting, for example, has different limits than telecommunications. The right structure is defined case by case.
What ongoing obligations does a concession holder have?
Among others: periodic filings and reports, cooperation with the authorities, tariff registration where applicable, and respect for user rights. Non-compliance can lead to sanctions or put the title at risk.
Do you help with deals between operators?
Yes — we negotiate and document interconnection agreements, infrastructure sharing, purchases of sector assets and commercial arrangements between operators and providers.
